Bakewell Carnival (Saturday 1st July 2017)

Bakewell town centre will be closed to traffic between 15.00 hrs and 16.30 hrs. This closure will affect the following transpeak services;

  • 13.50 hrs ex Derby 
  • 14.50 hrs ex Derby 
  • 13.15 hrs ex Manchester 
  • 15.37 hrs ex Buxton

Services to Derby will operate as normal to Ashford in the Water, then turn left onto the A6020, continue via the Hassop roundabout to Handley Bottom, turn left onto the A619, and then almost immediately turn right onto the B6048 towards Pilsley. Follow this road to the junction with the B6012, turn right and continue through Chatsworth Park towards Beeley and re join the A6 at Rowsley.
Services to Manchester will leave the A6 at Rowsley and follow the reverse of the above route, re joining the normal route at Ashford in the Water.
Customers wishing to attend Bakewell Carnival should be advised to travel on the;

  • 11.15 hrs from Manchester
  • 13.37 hrs from Buxton
  • 12.50 hrs from Derby

Bus stops not served:
Ashford Mill, Lakeside, Lumford Mill, Fire Station, Bakewell Town Centre, Haddon Hall, Picory Corner and all stops in Rowsley.(except the Derby bound stop at East Lodge.)

Buxton Road, (A6), Disley (Nr jnct Redhouse Lane by The White Lion P.H.) (1st June until 30th July)

Installation of traffic lights at junction of A6 and Redhouse Lane and various junction improvements may lead to delays to our transpeak and skyline199 services. During the roadworks, the bus stops at The White Lion will be closed and Skyline 199 buses will not be able to stop there

Higher Hillgate, Stockport Highway improvement works (22nd May until 2nd July)

Higher Hillgate will temporarily become a one way northbound round from the 22nd May until the 2nd July). Our services do not use Higher Hillgate but they will be impacted by an increase in southbound traffic from Stockport centre and from Longshut Lane.

28th May Greater Manchester Fare Revision

Please note that from the 28th May 2017,  fares for services which enter Greater Manchester will be revised.

Single, return and weekly ticket prices will be revised on the following services: 60, 60A, 202, 341, 392, 393 (Macclesfield), 393 (Glossop), 390, Skyline 199 and transpeak. 

These fare revisions will allow us to continue to invest in our vehicles and staff making sure we continue to offer you the best possible service.

From Tuesday 2nd May our Customer Services team will be available from 09:00 until 17:30 Mondays to Fridays. Road Closure A6 Buxton Road (Mill Lane) (18th April to 4th September 2017)

From the 18th April 2017, Buxton Road (A6) from Norbury Hollow Road to Mill Lane will be closed to allow works to proceed on the A6 Manchester Airport Relief Road.

Services will be diverted onto a newly built road that will take traffic away from High Lane to Hazel Grove Golf Club where it will meet up with Buxton Road (A6).

Whilst this diversion is in operation we will not be able to serve the bus stops by Norbury Hollow Road (Thai Fusion), Mill Lane (Simpsons Corner) or Hazel Grove Golf Club (southbound).

The nearest alternative stops will be at Threaphurst Lane and Hazel Grove Golf Club (northbound). The closest bus stop for Hazel Grove Golf Club will be the stop opposite Hazel Grove Police Station.


Changes to acceptance of Unibus 4, 7 & 8 passes on our transpeak service

As from Monday 12th September 2016, we will no longer, accept on the transpeak service, Unibus Passes issued for routes 4, 7, and 8.
Any student wishing to travel in the morning from Derby to Buxton and Leek College with a Unibus 7 pass should be directed to Derwent Street from where their bus will depart at 07.39hrs. Students returning, during the day, from Buxton to destinations towards Derby should be requested to pay the appropriate fare for travel or otherwise wait for the return departure of the Unibus 7 service.

The travel conditions for HE (999) and Uni. Staff Passes remain unaltered.
